She
is even more ambitious than her husband, and has no regard for morality. She
urges Macbeth to kill Duncan, and refuses to understand his doubts and
hesitations. Husband and wife are at first affectionate, hiding nothing from
each other; gradually this relationship is destroyed. Lady Macbeth becomes
obsessed with the murder of Duncan, suffers from nightmares, and finally kills
herself.
